Ms. Caribbean Alliance (center) shares a happy moment with this lucky winner as co-host William "Zee Zee" Thomas looks on.
T'is the Season to be Giving
Many persons use this season to reflect on the past year. Well Caribbean Alliance Insurance, CAI, is taking this opportunity to recognize the people who have worked hard throughout the last twelve months.
First stop - Princess Margaret School for their annual prize-giving and graduation ceremony on Thursday 4th December 2008. Paula Simon captured two Caribbean Alliance Diamond Awards – the Most Diligent Student, and the Most Improved Student plaques. Christine Persaud walked away with the award for the Highest Career Average – a prize developed by CAI specifically for the school. Prior to presenting the award, a short biography of Ms. Persaud was read before the audience. Both students also received a gift certificate for $500 redeemable at ACT, compliments Caribbean Alliance.
Next stop, the Antigua Barbuda Softball Cricket Association, ABSCA, Awards ceremony on Sunday the 7th. Ms. Caribbean Alliance, Thea Joseph, really got involved in this function as she was the co-hostess for the night. There were lots of prizes and surprises, as Thea and her co-host William "Zee Zee" Thomas kept the audience on their toes with impromptu give-aways. One lucky lady won herself a weekend for two at the Jolly Beach Resort and Spa. Needless to say, there wasn't a dull moment.
After co-hosting, it was off to the Parham Wesleyan Holiness Church on Wednesday the 10th to spread some cheer at the Parham Primary School Graduation. Here Caribbean Alliance gave prizes to the top three students in this year's Common Entrance Exams from the Parham Primary School. Brian Bagot (3rd place), and Lashorn Bender (2nd place) both received Diamond Awards, while Sherika Crump (1st place) copped the Exceptional Student Award compliments Caribbean Alliance.
Each of the three students were called up in turn, and a brief bio was read for them one at a time. The honourees were all smiles throughout. Except for Lashorn who got a little emotional as tears trickled down her face during her bio. Apart from graduating, Wednesday was also when she celebrated her 12th birthday. So it truly was a special day for her.
"I also want to acknowledge the efforts of the teachers at the school for all the hard work that they have done," said Thea. "I particularly want to recognize the efforts of Ms. Allison Ledeatte, because she has really put herself out to make learning fun and exciting for the students," she continued.
There is still more to come. Thea will be at Karib Cable on Saturday 20th December 2008 to pick the lucky winners for their Christmas Promotion. The prizes will be 1 year free cable service, a 37" flat-screen Plasma TV, and the grand prize will be a 42" flat screen Plasma TV.
Date of Release: December 12th 2008
